Level 1 chargers
Level 1 chargers use a 120V AC plug
This method of electric vehicle charging only requires a domestic 13 amp 240 volt socket, however we do not recommended this option as it takes an average of 18-25 hours to fully charge a vehicle and invariably works out more expensive to obtain a full charge.
Level 2 EV charging stations
Residential & Commercial Stations
This method is widely used in domestic properties where the property qualifies for this installation (off-street parking & suitable electricity supply). Compatible with 100% of electric vehicles, it works off a 240 volt 40 amp supply. Full charge time is between 6-9 hours, with an average cost for a full charge from £8.00-£9.50 depending on vehicle battery capacity.
Level 3 chargers
The fast charge of DCFC
This method is commonly known as “Fast charge of DCFC” and is not commonly installed in domestic properties, mainly because of the configuration of supply to the property. These chargers are generally found in commercial stations, service stations, and on the public highway.
